Tradition of Excellence Lives on

We’ve always prided ourselves on recruiting the best—and that’s still true today.

Our newest members were initiated in the fall, and we are honored to have such accomplished young men joining our ranks. Each is actively striving to improve every day whether it’s through academics, service to others, or physical fitness. We look forward to seeing these men develop over their years in Sigma Nu and the many contributions they’re sure to make!

New members include:

Nathan Luskey is participating in Tech Beautification Day as a project coordinator. He is involved in research in the Healthcare Robotics Lab and serves as a Prototyping Instructor at the Invention Studio. He’s also on the planning committee for the Stamps Scholars National Convention, during which scholars come together to learn from business, non-profit, and university thought leaders to share ideas and present the results of their ongoing research activities.

Alen Polakof is a participant in the Vertically Integrated Projects Program, which unites undergraduate education and faculty research in a team-based context. Undergraduate VIP students earn academic credits, learn and practice professional skills, and experience different roles on large multidisciplinary design/discovery teams. Alen is also a member of Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE).

Sam Ranck plays Lacrosse for Georgia Tech, serves on the Student Alumni Association, and is an Honor Pledge.

Cael Cernich is a member of Student Alumni Association and part of the Georgia Tech hockey team, which won the ACC South Tournament this year. He hopes to get a job at the Campus Recreation Center. He enjoys volunteering around campus and will be a part of Tech Beautification Day. Past accomplishments include winning a national championship for hockey, placing 8th in Georgia for the HOSA Medical Terminology Test, and building a hoverboard for a science fair and placed among the top 5 in the county for it. He aspired to hold some a leadership position within Sigma Nu, whether it be a committee chair or a member of executive board.

Shane Walker serves on the Student Alumni Association and is a member of the Lacrosse team.

Jack McMurtrie is also a member of the Student Alumni Association, a project coordinator for Tech Beautification Day, a National Merit Scholar, and a research assistant at Georgia Aquarium.
