May 2006

Michael Robison is Chairman and CEO of Atlanta based Lanier Parking Holdings, Georgia's largest parking concern controlling more than $10 Billion dollars worth of commercial parking at 300 properties in 34 cities across the Unites States. And who knew that after pledging Gamma Alpha of Sigma Nu and being initiated as Gamma Alpha # 1660, Michael would drop out of Georgia Tech to manage his interest in a small parking lot over by the Varsity. His vision to reinvest the significant cash flow back into more properties and, more importantly his business acumen and passionate leadership to diversify his business interests has led to one of the greatest success stories in recent history. And yes - true to his word......Brother Robison came back to receive his degree from Georgia Tech in the 90's.

Robison serves on the boards of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Midtown Alliance, the Piedmont Park Conservancy and the Georgia Tech College of Management. He is Chairman of the Board of the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau and serves on the Executive Committee of the Conservancy.

Robison was named by Georgia Trend magazine as one of Georgia's top '40 under 40', he chaired and completed the Andrew Young International Boulevard Revitalization Project and was the recipient of the ACVB's Member of the Year Award. He received the ACVB's President's Award and was a top five finalist for the Atlanta Business Chronicle's Small Business Person of the Year.
Robison also serves as Chairman of Atlanta Streetcar, Inc., a private, non-profit organization leading the creation of a streetcar line servicing the Peachtree Street corridor from Buckhead to Downtown and is a member of Mayor Franklin's Peachtree Corridor Task Force.

Michael was born and raised in Atlanta and he, his wife and two children live in Buckhead and attend The First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta.

Robison is an avid supporter of the BellSouth Classic Executives for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta program, the Georgia Tech Foundation, the Atlanta Opera, the Woodruff Arts Center, the Fox Theatre, the Piedmont Park Conservancy, the Marcus Institute and the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. He is a member of the Commerce Club, Cherokee Town & Country Club, Ansley Golf Club, and Lake Toxaway Country Club. Michael is also an avid supporter of Georgia Tech Athletics and not only remembers the last National Championship in football...but boldly predicts with pride that there are several more to come.

Michael recently participated in the Sigma Nu Speaker series where successful Gamma Alphas that have distinguished themselves with their career accomplishments return to the Chapter to address the actives and alums. This provides a wonderful opportunity for our alumni to present living testaments to the quality and integrity inherent in the Sigma Nu experience. Michael challenged the chapter : to continue to recognize the importance of their own academic responsibility; to constructively challenge each other to prosper academically; and to continue to develop their leadership skills by proactive participation in campus life and community service. "It was truly inspirational for me to see so many alums in attendance and to see the current actives get so geared up. My brother Brennan (Gamma Alpha #1666) and I were both Sigma Nus at Georgia Tech and share enormous pride in Gamma Alpha. My mother Anne graduated from Georgia Tech as well and is also a proud alumna. We definitely have a rich heritage of Yellow Jackets in the family."

Michael's passion and enthusiasm was contagious as he provided real life experiences that resonated with everyone in attendance. "Reflecting back on my days at Georgia Tech, there was something magical and mystical about the Gamma Alpha Chapter of Sigma Nu. I learned so much from my pledge class and from the brotherhood. It may sound corny....but you really could feel the power of truth and dignity and honor." Michael was the fourth speaker in our new Speaker Series that has included Rep. Phil Gingrey - U. S. House of Representatives....Gamma Alpha #1130 and previous Commander; Gary T. Jones - Senior Managing Director...Credit Suisse First Boston (ret)...Gamma Alpha #1290; and John T. Rhett - Chairman - SunTrust Investment Services....Gamma Alpha #1402.

Michael was recently honored by the Georgia Tech College of Management at a Black Tie reception and dinner where he was recognized as one of Georgia Tech's most distinguished young alums and inducted into the Council
of Outstanding Young Alumni.

As a sign of he and his wife's remarkable efforts to BE INVLOVED.....MAKE A DIFFERENCE.....GIVE BACK, Michael has made a 6 figure Leadership Gift to the Sigma Nu building campaign - BUILDING THE FUTURE.....TODAY!

Brother Michael Robison.....YOU MAKE US ALL PROUD as you WALK IN THE WAY OF HONOR !
